The game features a mode known as Dino Rampage, putting you in control of a hero who needs to fend off a dinosaur who embarks on a rampage after becoming upset, where you need to smash the exhibit and then try to smash the zoo and start cracking visitors. Mostly games get challenging as you advance through the stages. It features several playable mini-games, such as Locating Fossils, Cloning Animals, Tranquilizing Dinosaurs, and more.
The game comes with new extinct animals, mainly are dinosaurs and ice age creatures. It serves as an expansion pack for Zoo Tycoon 2 released in 2007. Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals is a Single-player Business Simulation developed by Blue Fang Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios.
